We can do our part, obviously, but the best results come when we work together. That starts with properly hydrated skin.

The non negotiables

💧 Hydrate from the inside out
Well hydrated skin is more elastic, so hair releases more easily with less pulling and irritation.

💧 Moisturise daily, just not on wax day
Use a gentle, fragrance free moisturiser or body oil once or twice daily. Hydrated skin means less breakage and a smoother finish. Clean, product free skin on the day.

💧 Avoid dehydrating triggers 24 hours pre wax
Limit alcohol, excess caffeine, and hot baths or saunas. These can dehydrate skin or increase sensitivity.

💧 Soothe and rehydrate post wax
Think aloe, calendula, or a quality post wax serum. Keep drinking water. Your skin is in recovery mode.

Do’s
• Always wear SPF — Kate’s top pick is (Alumier Sheer Hydration) to protect that fresh skin.
• Be gentle — skip the scrubs and harsh products for a few days.
• Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate — aim for at least 1 litre of water daily to keep your skin plump and happy.
• Book your next appointment — your skin faces daily exposure to sun, pollution, and stress. Regular treatments help maintain that radiant glow.

Don’ts:
• Don’t touch your face — your skin is extra sensitive post-facial and touching can transfer bacteria.
• Avoid heavy makeup for at least 24 hours to let your skin breathe and recover.
• Skip the gym, saunas, & hot showers — excessive heat and sweat can irritate your freshly treated skin.
• Don’t exfoliate or use active ingredients (like retinol or acids) for 2–3 days. Your skin needs time to heal.
• Don’t forget clean pillowcases — nothing quite like fresh bedding, but especially important post facial!

Step by step to silky smooth legs 👇🏼

• Moisturise daily, except the day of your appointment. Moisturising regularly ensures your skin stays soft, supple and healthy, and when it comes to your wax, the hairs will easily glide out.

• Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water is a staple health and beauty tip, and it applies here too. Hydrated healthy skin (*waxed by Queen Bee of course) = silky smooth.

• Let it grow. Regrowth should be approx .5cm to give the wax something to grip onto. *If this is your first time waxing, it can take 4-6 waxes to get your hair growth cycle in sync but don’t worry, they will look great from the first wax.

🤰🏽PREGNANCY
• Most important point here, is that you, as the mum-to-be is comfortable.
• Not all therapists will do pregnancy waxing, but Kate is fully experienced and will make you as comfortable as possible, altering her hand placement.
• Just let her know your due date when booking in, and sit back and relax.

🩸PERIOD
• We covered this in our intimate waxing Q&A’s, but again, totally fine to have your wax whilst on your period.
• Just make sure you use a tampon or period cup.
• Your comfort is always Kate’s priority, she will adjust her hand placement to counteract any heightened sensitivity.
• But as a personal tip, taking a paracetamol half an hour before your wax works wonders too!

Queen Bee Marlow is moving!

We are very excited to tell you that Queen Bee will be moving to a new studio, and will open our doors on Wednesday 1st March. Our last appointments at our current studio will take place on Saturday 25th February.

Queen Bee’s new studio is being created into a bespoke hive for our wonderful collective of professionals. It will enable us to offer an exciting and varied range of services to clients, all under one roof.

We only work with the best and continue to train in the most innovative and creative treatments in our chosen fields so we can introduce these services to Marlow. We can’t wait to share our new hive with you!

How to find us:

We are just next door to Jigsaw (opposite Duke of Clarence). The front of the building is Hamptons Estate Agent - simply follow the signs to our lovely courtyard, and you’ll find Queen Bee to the rear of the 43 High Street building.

A second step-free access option is from Institute Road. Pass the Post Office (on your left), and turn left into the car park.

February news! 🐝

Spring is around the corner, and as the seasons change so do a few things with Queen Bee Marlow.

Firstly, we're excited to share that we will be moving location soon - we'll still be in the heart of beautiful Marlow so we can continue to look after our lovely clients locally. Watch this space for updates about our move!

Our second piece of news is that the lovely Ewelina of Swanky Nails will be taking up residence at a new location, and will therefore leave our studio. We would like to thank Ewelina for being a true pleasure to work with, she is a fantastic nail technician and it has been wonderful to expand our services with her for the past year at Queen Bee. Please contact Swanky Nails directly for more information about the new location.

Lastly, while we have to remain tight-lipped at the moment, we are looking forward to announcing some exciting new services from the Queen Bee Marlow studio, expanding our treatment range and the collective of talented professionals who work in our buzzing hive!
